IDPwithBEE 2013 DL TIERS

My fellow IDP readers, I’m doing tiers now for each IDP position that you have starting in your league.  First up I got the DL (Defensive Linemen) and don’t confuse yourself with rankings or some may look at it as Tier 1 = DL1 which is not necessarily true but it can mean something simliar to that.  I’ll break down each tier with a little bit more detail, but I’m going to show you my 6 Tiers of the DL position that’ll give you a better chance at landing a solid group of DL for your roster, who has the upside and who you’ll avoid.

  • TIER 01 – The elite, the studs and the ones where you’d have to target a little earlier if you want em.
  • TIER 02 – upside and ability to put up huge points, DL1 candidates and you have a chance to pair 2 of them.
  • TIER 03 – consistent vets and risers
  • TIER 04 – savvy vets in this tier as well as those are just scratching the surface, sleeper picks and potential.
  • TIER 05 – spot starters, rookies with upside
  • TIER 06 – some you’ll shy away from, a couple rookies with upside to vault them into a higher tier & last resort type DL to target, definitely DL4/5 with these players.

IDPwithBEE WEEK 13 DL RANKINGS

We are entering week 13 and it’s more than likely the week before the playoffs start and you’re fighting to make it or move up in positioning.  The DL spot has been feast or famine all season with a lot of inconsistency (unless you’re a JJ Watt owner).  A handful of DL’s had prime match-ups in week 12 but couldn’t take advantage of it and don’t knock yourself for it neither, sometimes game flow doesn’t allow certain things to happen or the QB gets rid of the ball too quickly to where the DL can’t get to him.  Just believe that you’re starting the right DL (based on match-up) and there isn’t much left on waivers.  Another week filled with the land of opportunity for  a few DL – so here are my week 13 rankings for DL.

RK PLAYER TEAM OPP QUICK HITS
1 JJ WATT HOU TEN easily the most consistent DL this year
2 GENO ATKINS CIN SDC last 2 gms 9tkls 2sacks 2FF 1PD 9QB hurries #Ballin

9 JUSTIN SMITH SF STL prime match-up for Justin and the 49ers
10 CHANDLER JONES (Q)  NEP MIA hopefully he plays
11 TERRELL SUGGS BAL PIT
12 CHARLES JOHNSON CAR KCC

IDPwithBEE WEEK 12 DL RANKINGS

It’s never too early to post weekly rankings, right? Finally all the bye weeks are done (felt a little too long) so it’s been some time where I’ve had to rank every player now, but it’s what makes the job fun.  I know a handful of DL are battling some injuries right now, got injured in week 11 so their status isn’t clear (yet) so I’m ranking them right now as if they’re playing in week 12.  Side Note : i dont think Chandler Jones plays though, especially on a short week so if Rob Ninkovich is on your waiver i’d pick him up if you need a sub.
