This is the second installment of this new series that I started last year with the IDP rookies in the NFL Draft.  Just keep in mind, this is strictly defensive players only and I’m going based off what I think the team needs to help them succeed and become better.  Some players may go higher than you’d see but again, it’s just defensive players.  Your thoughts and questions are always welcomed, you can reach me via twitter @IDPwithBEE_DSE and I’ll be glad to talk IDP with you, this is completely different from my rankings too.

HOUSTON TEXANS JADEVEON CLOWNEY clear cut #1 and will give the Texans a 1-2 punch with Watt/Clowney, opposing QB’s worst nightmare right there.
ST LOUIS RAMS (VIA WAS) KHALIL MACK has a knack for creating turnovers and playing behind Quinn would be deadly for the Rams defense who already have Ogletree and Laurinaitis as the other LB’s. The Rams can’t go wrong with this pick & Mack is an upgrade over Dunbar.
JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS AARON DONALD Donald is a dominant force inside and the rising and improving defense of the Jaguars would welcome Aaron. One could argue putting Anthony Barr here instead but they need to get to the QB, Donald would boslter the front four with Babin & Clemons.
CLEVELAND BROWNS JUSTIN GILBERT arguably the draft’s best CB has the size, speed and athleticism to lock down opposing WR’s. He’d be the perfect compliment opposite Haden as it’ll provide the Browns 2 solid corners.
OAKLAND RAIDERS SCOTT CRICHTON lost Houston and signed Tuck, nobody else on that line would provide pressure on the QB so the Raiders go out and get the DE that wins with power and leverage. Crichton has tremendous busrt and is disciplined. Crichton would provide Raiders with a young DE as they continue to rebuild on the defensive side.
ATLANTA FALCONS ANTHONY BARR with Barr still on the board, the Falcons can’t pass him up as he’s just beginning to tap into his potential. Solid edge rusher would be a nice addition next to Worrilow and Weatherspoon. As much as ATL needs a pass rusher on the line, Barr will provide it from the edge.
TAMPA BAY BUCS LOUIS NIX Bucs land the run stuffer in Louis Nix to pair up with McCoy, Johnson and Clayborn. Opposing teams won’t be able to run on Tampa as Lovie continues to add solid pieces for his defense.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS CJ MOSLEY Yes the Vikings have Audie Cole, who did pretty good at MLB towards the end of the season but let’s not fool ourselves here. If Mosley is available here, you can’t pass on him as he’ll provide immediate impact and a day 1 starter. Greenway is getting up there in age, MIN needs to get younger and Mosley fits the bill to be the next man to lead the defense.
BUFFALO BILLS KONY EALY as BUF moves back to 4-3, they will need another rusher opposite Mario Williams. Enter Kony Ealy, who is impressive and has superior physical tools. Kony will be a nice addition next to Williams, Dareus and Mario.
DETROIT LIONS CALVIN PRYOR Lions have a stout front line, one could argue going LB here and they like what they have at CB, so we address the safety issue as Delmas packed his bags and went to Miami. Pryor would be a day 1 starter and give the Lions a playmaker and hard hitter at the safety position.
TENNESSEE TITANS BRADLEY ROBY one could argue he’s the better CB prospect than Gilbert but I call Roby 1B and after the Titans lost Verner, Horton will want to pair Roby with McCourty. Roby will be a nice replacement for Verner, is a smooth athlete and has the speed and ball hawk skills.
NEW YORK GIANTS KYLE VAN NOY The Giants secondary is in place, the defensive line has its question marks but not an issue, so they address their need which is a Linebacker. Beason played well once he arrived, Paysinger has been alright but adding Van Noy to this defense would give Coughlin a heck of a OLB for his defense.
ST LOUIS RAMS JIMMIE WARD Rams improve their secondary with their 2nd pick of the 1st round with great cover safety in Ward, flew under the radar but has picked up steam as of late and would be a nice fit next to McDonald, who would be able to roam free while Ward covers.
CHICAGO BEARS HA HA CLINTON DIX The Bears have safety issues and they quickly fix that with drafing of Clinton Dix, who is arguably the best safety in the draft but I have Pryor/Ward/Clinton Dix in the same tier. He’d be an instant upgrade over Wright, who has left the team.
PITTSBURGH STEELERS STEPHON TUITT Steelers need to get younger on their line, they have Heyward now they’ll add Tuitt who has a relentless motor and should fit just fine with LeBeau’s aggressive defensive scheme.
DALLAS COWBOYS DEMARCUS LAWRENCE Cowboys have a few holes to fill on the defensive side of the ball, they lose Demarcus Ware now we’ll enter the Demarcus Lawrence era in Dallas. One of the purest pass rushers in the draft, Cowboys get their pass rusher. He won’t replace Ware but he’ll close the gap some.
BALTIMORE RAVENS TIMMY JERNIGAN Ravens defense has the pieces, Ngata was not impressive last season and possibly on a decline. They take Jernigan who is undersized but that’s not what his game says. Jernigan is solid against the run and disruptive in the backfield.
NEW YORK JETS DARQUEZE DENNARD Jets could’ve gone a couple other routes here but they go the route of one of the better CB prospects in the draft, Dennard. Consistent and physical in man coverage and has good awareness I wouldn’t be surprised if he beats out Milliner for the CB1 spot and Milliner takes CB2.
MIAMI DOLPHINS RA’SHEDE HAGEMAN Dolphins not knowing how to utilize Jordan, while Wake gets a year older and Vernon starting to turn the corner (inconsistently) Dolphins take a shot with a converted TE in Hageman. Has the physical tools to succeed and is explosive, still needs to sit and develop and while Wake is there he can sit and learn from a great DE.
ARIZONA CARDINALS DEE FORD Cardinals have to tweak their LB corps again, lost Dansby and Washington is in trouble and some question marks on the outside. This is where Ford enters the picture and provides Arizona a quick edge rusher because that’s where he’ll succeed.
GREEN BAY PACKERS CHRIS BORLAND Hawk and Jones are meh and GBP needs depth at the LB position as well. Borland is a solid ILB, has good instincts and attacks the ball carrier. He reminds me of Sean Lee, without the injuries. If Borland lands in GBP they’d have a solid pair with Lattimore/Borland if they want to go the youth route.
PHILADELPHIA EAGLES CHRISTIAN JONES Trent Cole isn’t getting any younger and Chip Kelly has been on the lookout for another edge rusher with speed, enter Christian Jones. Has an outstanding first step off the snap and is able to drop in coverage. Jones would excel in Philly as the Brandon Graham project has failed.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS SHAYNE SKOV with the LB prospects thinning out already, the Chiefs go after Skov who is a high intelligent player and seems to be a step ahead on plays. Powerful tackler and takes good angles when on the move. Chiefs have the other 3 LB spots filled up, Skov would be a nice fit next to Derrick Johnson in the middle.
CINNCINATI BENGALS RYAN SHAZIER Bengals would be getting a versatile LB in Shazier, he’s able to line up at any LB position. It would be ideal if CIN moved Burfict to MLB and put Rey and Shaizer as the OLB’s, bring more athleticism on the field and quickness.
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS KYLE FULLER Chargers land their #1 corner in Fuller. Plays the ball well, changes directions well and attacks the ball. Since Jammer left the Chargers have been searching for a #1 corner and failed, until now. Fuller can fill in nicely, it’s also a nice spot for IDP owners.
CLEVELAND BROWNS (VIA IND) CARL BRADFORD Browns get a nice OLB in Bradford to play next to Dansby, Robertson has been miserable and Kruger/Mingo is figured to play SLB.
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS TRENT MURPHY a monster of a pass rusher for Rob Ryan to utilize opposite Junior Galette. Murphy sorta reminds me of Kruger, and will be strictly just asked to rush the QB.
CAROLINA PANTHERS JASON VERRETT Carolina has their front 7 locked up, it’s their secondary that needs attention. Getting Verrett here provides them a very solid corner, possibly their CB1. Even though he’s undersized he plays bigger and excels in both man and zone, sound tackler as well.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS DEONE BUCANNON Bucannon can be a solid box safety for the Patriots, as he’s good against the run and is a hard hitter. He can drop back in coverage when needed, but with McCourty there it’ll allow Bucannon to roam and play closer to the line of scrimmage.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS YAWIN SMALLWOOD with Bowman out and unsure when he’ll be back, 49ers could be looking at Smallwood to fill in for the time being. He has great acceleration to pursue ball carriers, can provide pass rush and shed blocks but needs to be more physical and playing next to Willis, he’ll pick that up fast.
DENVER BRONCOS WILL SUTTON a menace in the middle, a team leader and collapses the pocket. Moves well for his size and quick to engage. Sutton provides the Broncos solid depth on the defensive line with Knighton and Williams, which could form a stout rotation.
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS KAREEM MARTIN Seahawks love their DE’s, so after losing Clemons they gain Kareem Martin. Martin is very athletic and needs to play to his potential, Coach Carrol with get it out of him especially if he’s going to be playing on the best defense in the NFL. Once again, the Seahawks get a steal in the draft.
