Aloha everyone, I take a look at 25 IDP rookies that are in the 2014 NFL Draft.  It’s obvious we don’t know what team they’ll be going to yet but off of watching some tape and how I think they’ll impact their new team is how I’m basing my rankings.  I strongly believe these 25 can provide some sort of impact for your IDP team, whether its from day 1 or mid-season.  There’ll definitely be changes to this ranking, especially the Post-Draft version.  As always, if you have any questions feel free to reach me via twitter @IDPwithBEE_DSE

Jadeveon Clowney DL freakish athlete, difference maker will flirt with double digit sacks
CJ Mosley LB do it all LB, goes to right team will make immediate impact
Khalil Mack LB solid edge rusher, relentless and will stack the stat sheet, will be hot pick in rookie drafts if he goes to the right team.
Anthony Barr LB just tapping into potential, will be a solid edge rusher in 3-4 scheme and enter the Aldon Smith/Clay Matthews territory
Ryan Shazier LB his versatility should help him at next level, if he starts he has high ceiling and ability to drop back in coverage will pad the stat sheet
Kyle Van Noy LB a complete edge player, can rush and cover – he should start and be an impact player.
Kony Ealy DL needs improvement against run but potential to be a stout DE on any team, he could also move to a 3-4 OLB.
Scott Crichton DL with his discipline and redirection he can rack up a ton of tackles, kind of like Sheldon Richardson. Has immediate DL2 value if he gets the start on the team that drafts him.
Jimmie Ward DB excels in coverage and solid intangibles, ankle tackler could hurt him but above all makes up for it. Reminds me of Cyprien and a team like GBP could give him a DB2 value.
Calvin Pryor DB hard hitting aggressive Safety with avg speed but abilityt to make plays in coverage. Pryor would probably be the starter where he goes and can be a nice DB2 with DB1 potential.
Aaron Donald DL has solid instincts and good quickness, dangerous pass rusher from the interior – think Geno Atkins.
Ha Ha Clinton Dix DB aggressive box safety can remind anyone of Mark Barron, he’ll more than likely end up on a team that needs a safety and Ha Ha could be slotted into the DB2 mid-tier, should have ample opportunity to make plays.
Christian Jones LB could be a solid LB in big play leagues, hopeful he lands on a 3-4 base team where they can utilize his speed on the outside.
Jeremiah Attaochu LB patient and disciplined on backside runs, attacks in pursuit and takes smart angles. Can be a nice 4-3 SLB for the Giants, where he’d have decent IDP value. Can become a nice sleeper that racks up nearly 80 tackles.
Chris Borland LB a bit undersized but has good instincts and attacks the ball carrier. Mirrors Sean Lee some, will probably be an IDP rookie you’d have to stash and wait on which could pay off.
Shayne Skov LB high football IQ, seems a step ahead of the play, takes good angles and is a powerful tackler. Post draft I could see Skov rising on my rankings as he has a possibility of becoming a starter. Would be a nice ILB for a 3-4 squad, BUF or ARI come to mind.
Stephon Tuitt DL flashed ability to play both run & pass, relentless motor and strong at point of attack. Tuitt could land on a team in need of a pass rusher, if Jaguars can’t land Clowney I could see them taking a chance on Tuitt. Will be a dynasty stash whereever he lands with upside of a DL2, Falcons could use him too.
Justin Gilbert DB has the size, speed and athleticism with the ability to lock down opposing WR’s. With today’s game being pass heavy, Gilbert will have every chance to get a starting nod – put him in the Desmond Trufant class right now (Desmond had an impressive rookie season)
Dee Ford LB/DL would prefer him to land on a 3-4 team like ARI to make some noise, that’s where his IDP value lays and he’ll probably rise on my rankings as the draft approaches and post draft. Can have Mingo type season where he plays sparingly or he’ll shine if he gets the start.
Bradley Roby DB smooth corner, fluid in the hips and feet. Arguably the best CB prospect this draft and a contender could land him in late rounds 1 or 2. Could have Janoris Jenkins type season, DB2, if he lands on a team like DET or CAR.
Ra’Shede Hageman DL think Corey Lemonier/Tank Carradine – Hageman is still raw and needs development after converting from the TE position. Has all the physical tools to succeed and is quick and explosive, likely land on a contender that has a line so Hageman can sit, learn and play sparingly to flash his potential. Depending on what team he lands on, he’ll either rise or fall on this ranking.
Kyle Fuller DB has the size to be a good NFL Corner, plays the ball well and has good instincts. This CB class is deep with talent, will definitely land on a team that’ll let him battle for a starting nod (Redskins anyone?). Will flash DB2 potential and with his playmaking, could give you DB1 type games.
Darqueze Dennard DB his awareness and technique is so good, consistent and solid in man coverage. If he lands on a team like SDC, insert him near the mid DB2 level because he’ll have all the opportunities in the world to make plays there with no true CB1.
Demarcus Lawrence DL could enter draft as an underrated pass rusher then lands on a team that’ll utilize him and give him opportunities which will then lead Lawrence to rise on my rankings. On a team like PIT, Lawrence could shine with no real threat of pass rushers there outside of Heyward. Think DL3 for now, stash him and he can be your DL2.
Yawin Smallwood LB I feel Smallwood should be higher, as I continue to look at the rookies he’ll more than likely rise on this ranking list. Has great acceleration and speed to pursue ball carriers, rarely over pursues plays and has no problem rushing the passer. His IDP value can rise if he lands on a team like MIN or HOU (need LB depth), throw in ARI too with Washington news. If you’re drafting now, take him and stash him.
