With Finnegan having departed to the Rams, Verner gets another chance to get his name back on the map.  For those of you who owned him in 2010, that was the year he put up DB1 numbers, 101 Total Tackles, 11PD’s, 3int, 1FF, 2FR and was he a favorite heading into 2011.  Verner was also starting in place of Jason McCourty (who was a top 3 DB and #1 CB in 2011) whom was injured that year, and you figure after putting up those numbers Verner would have a shot to start.  Lets fast forward to 2012, Verner is at it again and is currently heading into training camp battling Mouton as the CB2 opposite Jason McCourty.  I have no doubt Verner will beat out Mouton and take back his starting  spot; Verner will have many opportunities to put up numbers once again.  Temper expectations though, he won’t reach 101 total tackles once again with 85 of it being solo tackles.  He will put up more pass deflections and get more interceptions as his potential is DB1 status and being drafted as a DB3.  Verner is someone you target in drafts as he will put up numbers for you.

2012 Predictions : 89 total tackles 5ints 2FR 15PD 1TD
