IDP w/BEE (2011) LB RANKINGS

*updated August 26th 2011* IDPw/BEE Rankings

RK PLAYER TM NOTES
PATRICK WILLIS SF still the #1 IDP taken in drafts, no argument there, too dominate
JEROD MAYO NEP like what I’m seeing in pre-season, more blitzing = more stats
LAWRENCE TIMMONS PIT a rising star, all he needed was PT and an opportunity
PAUL POSLUSZNY JAX new team same player, will rack up a ton of tackles, carrying JAX defense
DERRICK JOHNSON KCC looks great so far, throw in a few INT’s and he could move up these ranks
CHAD GREENWAY MIN as consistent as they come, other than JA he’s the MIN IDP you’d want
JAMES LAURINITIS STL leader of an improving STL defense, tackle machine
JON BEASON CAR lingering achilles injury is bothersome, just keep an eye out
DJ WILLIAMS DEN will rookie Irving take some of DJ’s tackles? Still solid talent
STEPHEN TULLOCH DET improving young defense and Tulloch will anchor, tons of tackles again
JAMES HARRISON PIT still a menace on the defensive side, provides solid sack numbers too
CURTIS LOFTON ATL entering his prime and young LB corps Lofton gives you a few tackles
DESMOND BISHOP GBP took over for Barnett last year, Bishop stayed Barnett’s out, Bishop’s forreal!
DAVID HAWTHORNE SEA No Tatupu, No Problem Hawthorne is as solid as they come, tackling machine, could vault into top 10.
RAY LEWIS BAL he could turn 50 this year and still lead the lg in tackles
JAMAR CHANEY PHI will be asked to do a lot, opportunity turns into stats
DEMECO RYANS HOU still recovering from injury but should be fine, if not expect a drop
KARLOS DANSBY MIA solid LB on a solid Dolphins defense, expect more of the same
LONDON FLETCHER WAS savvy vet, racks up a ton of tackles, maybe has a couple solid years left
BRIAN CUSHINGS HOU if Ryans can’t go early on, he’ll be relied on heavily, can he handle it?
ROLANDO MCCLAIN OAK entering 2nd year should see boost in numbers as he gets more involved
CLAY MATTHEWS GBP sacks are nice but would like to see an uptick in tackles
D’QWELL JACKSON CLE something tells me he’ll be in the top 10 at seasons end
BRIAN URLACHER CHI age ain’t nothing but a number, still a menace on the defensive side
DAVID HARRIS NYJ provides you with quite a few tackles
DEMARCUS WARE DAL think James Harrison minus the 100+ tackles – could rise in rank though
MASON FOSTER TBB a rookie? Sure, he’s a ballhawk and a great tackler, he’ll flirt with 100+ TT
DARYL WASHINGTON ARI he’ll get his shot this year and he’ll shine
BARRETT RUUD TEN oh how the mighty have fallen, used to be top 5 now he’s battling rookies
JAMES ANDERSON CAR can he repeat?
REY MAUALUGA CIN moving to MLB is great, he’ll out perform his rank and you’ll benefit
JONATHAN VILMA NOS still anchoring the Saints defense, still solid
LAMAAR WOODLEY PIT pass rusher across Harrison would like to see more tackles
MARIO WILLIAMS HOU could enter top 20 but remember he’s a DE turned OLB
DEANDRE LEVY DET always a tease, is this the year he turns it on?
SEAN WEATHERSPOON ATL another 2nd year LB I like, could be a nice compliment to Lofton
BRANDON SPIKES NEP should get extended PT and should be a standout
THOMAS DAVIS CAR afraid of his knee injury again, but don’t be afraid of his numbers
DONALD BUTLER SDC I don’t think Cooper takes away much from Butler, he’ll man the middle
VON MILLER DEN prefer him in a 3-4 defense but we’ll see what he can do
NAVARRO BOWMAN SF will be a nice sleeper and rarely on anybody’s radar
PAT ANGERER IND no sessions, no problem – Pat can handle the MLB in Indy
AKEEM AYERS TEN already starting, should hold onto it and surprise many
GENO HAYES TBB will give you that handful of tackles
JUSTIN DURANT DET will battle for tackles with Tulloch but could help game in other categories
AJ HAWK GBP don’t get em mixed up with Clay would like consistency in tackles
BRIAN ORAKPO WAS getting more comfortable in defense, numbers should spike this year
LANCE BRIGGS CHI savvy vet, will be a nice LB3
NICK BARNETT BUF even with Morrison signing, if he can stay healthy I like him getting 100+ TT
SHAWNE MERRIMAN BUF lights out in BUF – looking like old-self well he has to prove something
